Yurdakul, Özgür (2026). GroundMotionGUI: A web-based tool for baseline correction, filtering and
PGA/PGV/PGD computation of accelerograms.
Faculty of Transport Engineering, University of Pardubice. Available at:

Defaults: linear baseline + Butterworth band-pass 0.1–25 Hz, order 4
(SeismoSignal's default filter settings). PGD depends strongly on the low cut-off —
always check the fc sweep on the Results tab.
Baseline Correction (on acceleration)
Polynomial order:
Pre-event mean (s):
If > 0, the mean of the first N seconds is removed instead of the polynomial.
Cosine taper (s):each end
Filter (Butterworth)
Type:
Low cut-off fc (Hz):
High cut-off (Hz):
Must be below Nyquist = 1/(2·dt), e.g. 25 Hz for dt = 0.02 s. If it is not, it is lowered to 0.8·Nyquist automatically.
Order (per pass):
Phase:
Acausal = forward + backward pass: effective order 2×, −6 dB at fc.
Integration
Displacement drift fix:
Fits a polynomial to displacement and removes its 2nd derivative from the acceleration, so a, v and d stay consistent.
